I wanted to share with you my honest review of ClickFunnels, a digital marketing tool you might be wondering is the best fit for your business needs.
During the last 5 years I have used ClickFunnels to create landing pages and sales funnels that have helped me grow my revenue streams; however, I did encounter some setbacks with the tool. Now I know that you might find mixed opinions online about this tool and from my own research, it appears that most of those who have negative to say about it are just trying to promote other tools with their affiliate links.
I am just here to provide my personal opinion to those are new to the digital marketing world and need some guidance on what to expect if they go with this option. Lets have a look at some ClickFunnels pros and cons, shall we?
For those who are wondering what ClickFunnels is
In simple words, ClickFunnels is a digital marketing platform designed to help businesses (small and big) create and manage their sales funnels effectively. It allows users to build landing pages, sales pages, and event registration without the need for coding knowledge. The primary goal of the platform is to help you streamline the online sales process, increase conversions, and enhance user engagement.
There are many landing page builders out there, like Wix and WordPress, and although they are great webpage builders, their features are not focused on driving conversions through marketing and sales funnels. This is where ClickFunnels shines.
That being said, there are benefits and disadvantages with all digital marketing platforms and in the case of this ClickFunnels review, we need to dive right into them.
Why you should use ClickFunnels: My honest review
Easy integration with tools
From personal experience, I can confirm that integrations with other tools is a breeze. With the option to integrate tools like MailChimp and Constant Contact into your ClickFunnels email marketing, you can collect leads and segregate your email lists automatically.
Although ClickFunnels alone is great, I have always needed other email tool integrations and omni-marketing performance data to make each level of my marketing funnels as effective as possible. All the integrations you need can be done without any coding experience-leave that for the tech experts!
Webpage drag and drop with ease
Creating a landing page is one of the first steps you will take when starting a business and lucky for you, creating a drag and drop landing page is one of benefits of ClickFunnels.
A drag and drop functionality simply means that you can drag widgets, like text boxes and images, to the position that you want them on your webpage. That’s right! No coding required.
Most webpage builders have a drag and drop option, like GoDaddy and WordPress, however, I have always found that there is a bit of a frustrating steep learning curve with them. WordPress is great but I would recommend it for the more advanced content creators and webpage developers.
A/B split testing
Deciding which heading, font or template to use for audience engagement and good user experience can be a challenging decision but with a ClickFunnels split test, its just so simple.
Testing campaigns and designs with different looks and features can provide valuable into your audience and how to drive your audience further down your sales or marketing funnel.
Choosing the webpage or form that performed the best will let you know which one of the 2 designs to use and which one you need disregard.
In the past I have used engagement events as a means of determining which ad, landing page or form variation to go with. These can include; click-through rate; scroll depth and time on-page.
Access to Affiliate courses
I know becoming a ClickFunnels affiliate may not be in the books for everyone reading this blog article, however, if you are looking for a way to make commissions, they do offer a selection of courses that can help you advertise their services.
They do offer an affiliate bootcamp, which provides you with valuable insights into what other affiliates have been doing to become successful, as well competitive affiliate challenges. I have never personally joined this community but I have met other digital marketers that have completed and they only had good things to say.
If you already have a business and require some extra assistance in setting up your sales or marketing funnel, why not get some expert assistance through the One Funnel Away Challenge?
Weekly webinars on building sales funnels
If you are looking at growing and improving your sales strategies through funnels, Clickfunnels does offer training on how to set up your funnels to target the right audience at each stage of a buyers journey. I have joined a few of these webinars for my ecommerce stores and I learn how to effectively target my audience in the; awareness, interest, consideration, conversion and retention stage of the buyers journey funnel.
In my personal experience, learning how to turn website visitors into loyal customers is crucial for maintaining a steady revenue and these webinars have a great teachers.
Some things to consider before using ClickFunnels: My honest review
No direct support
I know this might come as a bit of a shock but it is true. ClickFunnels support is not managed by their own team but rather the user community. It is mainly the really experienced users who reply to your queries but it does not the meet the standard of a professional support team.
I have been lucky during my time using their software, however, for some people who require 24/7 support or a support number, this may be a problem. That being said, the third party “support team” have been generally helpful in the past and they have been there for me when I experienced some issues.
Technical issues
Yep, a digital marketing platform experiencing technical issues….shocker. Reality is that every platform experiences some technical malfunctions from time to time and that’s just a reality we have to live with.
Personally, I have never faced any issues that concerned a breach in security but I have done my research and according to some testimonials, there have been odd cases of people having members being removed from shared projects without the admins doings.
Like I said, I haven’t experienced this personally, however, since this is an honest ClickFunnels review, I thought it was worth mentioning.
A breakdown of ClickFunnels pricing plans
ClickFunnels consists of 2 plans, which are further divided into monthly and annual:
- Startup
- Pro
How much does ClickFunnels cost per month?
Startup plan– $97/month
- This plan enables you to create 3 brand workspaces and invite 3 team members.
- Unlimited; funnels; courses; pages and domains
Pro plan-$297/month
- 10 brand workspaces and 10 team member invites
- Unlimited; funnels; courses; contacts; pages and domains
I have used both and the only real difference between the 2 is the number of workspaces and team member invites.
There is no option to test it for free, however, they do offer a free 14 day trial for both plans, which I find too short to test the ClickFunnels platform.
For those looking at expending their knowledge on sales and marketing, the courses offered in both plans are pretty great. I’ve completed a couple of them and taken a few strategies and implemented them into some affiliate websites of my own. Although the above features look relatively the same for both plans, I’d have to say there is a big difference in the amount of integrations you can get. The Startup plan is limited but probably ideal for beginners, while the Pro plan offers so so so many tool integrations.
Final conclusion
I have given you the ClickFunnels pros and cons and it is time to wrap this review up. Although there are hundreds of ClickFunnels reviews out there, I believe I have highlighted the key benefits and disadvantages.
The platform is great for those looking at creating an established sales/marketing strategy, aimed at driving conversions at the checkout stage of a business, however, there are cheaper alternatives that are similar to ClickFunnels. Wix and WordPress are great options if you just want to build a landing page or a website. Truth is both of these alternatives also offer a big selection of integrations as well.
What sets ClickFunnels apart from these competitors, is their focus on funnel building, a method of driving your audience to make a purchase or pay for a service. It adds structure to your business strategy.
